First Aid Training

 

 

First aid is the term that refers to the assistance given to help a person with some kind of physical condition until professional medical personnel have arrived on the scene and can take over. In the case of some procedures such as mouth to mouth resuscitation, first aid can make the difference between life and death.      

 

It may be appropriate for some energy healing practitioners to undertake training in first aid. Those going overseas to help in situations of military conflict or natural disaster should have basic first aid training.  In due course, it might also be an accreditation requirement in a regulatory environment for energy healers.

 

There are a lot of first aid training providers in the UK. Many are private sector commercial organisations that focus on first aid training in the workplace so that employers can comply with the Health and Safety Regulations. They offer group training and are not really focussed on training for people walking in off the street.   

 

For healers who do not have access to first aid training provision from employers, the Red Cross and St.John’s Ambulance provide low cost certificated first aid training at various locations around the country. This training is ideal for individual energy healers and certification from both organizations is generally recognized.  

 

 

 

 

Red Cross

The Red Cross Organisation offer a range of First Aid courses at http://www.redcross.org.uk/index.asp?id=39992&cachefixer=

  • Course durations range from a few hours to 28 hours and courses are offered across the country.
  • Prices are generally low. The Red Cross is a charity and not a private sector commercial company.
  • Courses are certificated and retraining needs to take place every three years.

 

 

 

 

St.John’s Ambulance

The St.John’s Ambulance Organisation offer a range of First Aid courses at http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/training-courses.aspx.

  • Course durations range from 3 hours to 28 hours and in the London / South East area are held at Dartford DA2, Hersham KT12, Maidstone ME14, Northampton NN5, and Ashford TN24. Courses are offered across the country.
  • Prices are generally low. St.John’s Ambulance is a charity and not a private sector commercial company.
  • Courses are certificated and retraining needs to take place every three years.
